It’s been a busy few months for restorative justice trainings in Michigan schools! Over the past year, Schertzing Communications, LLC has conducted 37 training sessions, engaging about 1,000 educators in learning about restorative justice. With 11 of those sessions hosted by intermediate or multi-school districts, we’ve easily engaged over 75 districts and more than 100 schools.
We are delighted to have given so many educators tools and ideas for adopting restorative justice philosophy and practices with their students. And we are especially proud of the evaluations they are giving our trainings sessions! As of the end of March, a whopping 92% of our 618 responders strongly agreed (59%) or agreed (33%) with all our evaluation statements, including:
- I will recommend this session to my colleagues (86%)
- The content was relevant to my needs and my work (90%)
- The presenter was well-prepared and the activities carefully planned (96%)
- At least once I will utilize what was presented in this training (95%)
Those numbers tell us we’re offering useful, meaningful trainings that are filling educators’ needs for information and high-quality education. But it’s their comments that touch our hearts. Here are just a few of the hundreds of statements they’ve offered at the end of our training sessions.
- “Outstanding training! Highly recommend. I can tell the passion you have, and it was great to be a part of it.”
- “I really enjoyed this session today. Even with having a solid foundation of knowledge about RJ, there was a lot of new learning that occurred.”
- “Thank you, this was a great intro and I could tell our team was engaged and wanting to know more.”
